What is wooden banister

Simply put, the wooden handrail is an indispensable component in staircase decoration. Generally, this product is installed on one or both sides of the staircase, depending on the structure of the staircase. The horizontal and inclined parts used for handrails are called staircase handrails. Staircase handrails are relatively simple in craftsmanship, have a simple design, and are not difficult to manufacture, so the price cost is not too high.

Material of wooden banister

Pine handrail

Radiata pine is a common material for making pine handrails. Due to its abundance and relatively simple processing, this type of material is inexpensive and offers excellent value for money.

Poplar handrail

Poplar handrails are even cheaper than pine, making them arguably the lowest-priced option on the market. However, as poplar is softwood, its strength is low, making it prone to breakage during use. Most customers don’t choose this type of wood, and we don’t recommend it either.

Cedar handrail

Cedar handrails can be custom-made or purchased from us, as we have a large inventory of various materials, especially hardwoods. These are classic and commonly used materials for stair railings and balusters. Material selection will be based on your specific requirements.

White oak railing

Oak is the most common and popular material. We supply stair railings and balusters for many projects, and you can purchase any material from us. However, we typically use American red and white oak to ensure uniform grain patterns.

Treatment of wooden banister

Raw

Untreated interior wood railings are the most commonly produced material by us, with each piece exceeding 4 meters in length. After receiving our products, you can have them cut to size according to your requirements, and then finished with the desired color and finish.

Primed

Primed handrails are mostly for MDF (medium-density fiberboard) materials; only a small number of solid wood materials use this process. After priming, different colors of painting are applied, tailored to the customer’s needs. This process is done after cutting the product, and both ends also require the same treatment.

Painting

Modern wood handrails can be finished with any color of paint; clear varnish is just one option. If the wood grain color and texture do not match your home’s decor, special coatings, or even graffiti or other special treatments, will be required.

Veneer

Modern wood railing allows for the use of relatively inexpensive materials with veneer finishes. Red oak, white oak, mahogany, and sandalwood veneers are all options. Since the internal materials are also solid wood or other types of wood, the veneer finish is not noticeable from the surface. It’s high-end yet inexpensive.
